Centurion club newark12/7/2023 "The addition of the Centurion Lounge, with its stunning architecture, incredible amenities and a celebration of New Jersey's rich history throughout will be a fitting capstone to an already world-class facility." "The new Terminal A is the first step in a renaissance for Newark Liberty International Airport," said Port Authority Chairman Kevin O'Toole, in a statement. The lounge will be located in Terminal A, and is scheduled to open in 2026. The lounge will offer a menu inspired by local food, seating areas, dedicated workstations, and free high speed Wi-Fi. In addition to the jazz bar, there will also be the sort of lounge features people are more likely to expect at a Centurion Lounge. ![]() You can expect to find live music in the lounge. That's not all though-a jazz bar and piano lounge will also occupy the space, inspired by New Jersey's history with jazz music in the 20th century. The new lounge will be 17,000 square feet, and will have a 1,400-square-foot indoor terrace overlooking the airfield and the Manhattan skyline. A good visit all in allAmerican Express is opening a new Centurion Lounge at Newark Liberty International Airport. I felt sorry for the staff having to clean up and take care of this many people. At least I was comfortable and di not mind taking the extra steps to get something from the bar. Do not understand why people want to be so close t food and drinks when there are other areas to sit. When going to the food and beverage area get something it was a bit of chaos. ![]() I saw a steady stream of people after me coming in. I entered and saw a few open tables immediately, but pressed on in toward the window are near the food and drinks: OMG PACKED !!! So turned around to the open table area. This was on a Friday afternoon of a 3-day weekend When returning as prescribed I was immediately admitted. I had tried entering about 4 hours before (not knowing this rule) and was asked to return at 1525. The first rule is you can only enter 3 hours before your scheduled departure. One thing is, they stick by their rules, and I see why keep reading. regardless of my skin color, or where I’m from. Therefore, I deserve to be treated with the same regards. I’m very disappointed in the kind of service this American Express lounge is providing, I have the same rights as every other guest/customer. I spoke to the manager Fabian, but he honestly didn’t seem to care at all. I honestly felt discriminated against due to the fact that I was the only African American in the whole lounge, and I was the only one being denied service to. ![]() To make matter worst, some other guest came right after me and ordered 2 expresso martinis, she proceeded to make them without saying a word or giving any pushbacks. so I ordered one, when the same previous bartender came back to the bar and saw Christian making me the drink, she got so upset and started cussing him out in Spanish, which was so unprofessional, not only you’re arguing in front of your customers, but on top of that, you’re doing it in Spanish. Therefore, I asked him what kind of drinks can he make me, he stated “ I can make you expresso martini etc. ![]() 20 mins later I was ready for my second drink, that’s when I noticed another gentleman behind the bar. Ok, I politely asked her for a glass of champagne. As I approached the bar, I saw her making a martini for another guest, so I asked her if could have an expresso martini, and she bluntly said no she can’t, and I have to go downstairs for that. The bartender was extremely rude and clearly racist. Today I had the most horrible & discriminatory experience EVER.
